Re: Fold set to river shove/overbet? (25nl)
I wouldn't expect a player with those stats to have played QT/T8 or anything except KJs maybe that would make two pair after you raised preflop. Stats were only after 59 hands though, and he could have just been card dead. Why didn't you bet the turn? Yuck you basically beat QQ/AA or a bluff I think. In the heat of it I don't think I could lay this down though.

Re: Fold set to river shove/overbet? (25nl)
Bet more on the flop
Bet the turn Bet the river Why are you trying to control the pot size with your set. You should be playing to get the stacks in. Call the river as played. You are ahead most of the time here, especially the way you played it. If you let a straight get there, a valuable lesson was learned. |

Re: Fold set to river shove/overbet? (25nl)
You have such a disguised hand, I beg you please bet for value... Checking the turn is awful... Bet 2,10 on the flop, if he folds he wouldn't have put any more money in the pot anyway. Bet 4,50 on the turn (as played) or my flop way bet 6,00 on the turn call a shove. I don't think villain has AA here because he would probably don't raise allin with that hand. He could have a set (KK,JJ,99,77) scared that you didn't hit anything and that's why he checked through the turn (river you hit your AK and he hopes you will call?). AK or KQ would be stupid overplay... When I see his stats I can't imagine he is playing KJ or QT after a preflopraise. All in all a difficult decision, you need to be good about 35% of the time which means calling and folding is close IMHO... But you have only manouvred yourself into this difficult decision by bad moves before...
