Default NL400 c/b with the nutstr8 ... embarrassing play?

yesterday i tried to take a shot a NL400 and this was one of the first hands the occured. i had no read on my opponent but i didnt notice anything unusually in the 1st orbit.


Blinds: $2/$4
4 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $304.65
Button: $330.20
SB: $369.00
hero: $385.00

Pre-flop: (4 players) hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">SB raises to $6</font>, hero calls.

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($12, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $12</font>, <font color="#cc0000">hero raises to $35</font>, SB calls.

Turn: 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($82, 2 players)
SB checks, <font color="#cc0000">hero bets $77</font>, SB calls.

River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($236, 2 players)
SB checks, hero checks.

how bad is this check behind? the board paird (ok i never thought he had a set) and the FD came in.
i dont know how people a playin on Nl400 and i didnt want to get c/r here.
fwiw, he checked the river very quickly as the heart hit.

if i bet here, i have about a potsize bet left. how much should i bet? 1/2 pot?

He has an overpair way more than a fd after he checks river. He wont fold it for a pot size bet in a blind battle. Just stick it in.

edit: oh, he doesnt. I still like a smaller bet than a full shove because it looks ridiculously strong

I agree with wdead, push seems too strong and you'll scare off pairs. I probably bet 1/2-2/3 pot.

I want to raise bigger on the flop to allow myself to get more money in on the turn. It also facilitates a river shove.

Im not worried about villain having a boat, I should think a set gets more money in somewhere. Im not convinced he has a flush either. I also like 1/2 pot on river.
