My friend has a 20th Anniversary GTI, 1.8turbo, fun little car to drive, Friend got new powder coated black rims and tinted windows, looks really nice altogether.

VW's are good cars, but I'd go with the tC, my friend's always complaining about the gas and the turbo broke within the first year, nothing big but he did need to get some parts replaced. And it seems like a kid's car.

Goofy, why do you have to get a car right now?

Every time I've been in a corporate parking lot half the cars are mid nineties imports.

I'd just hold off till you find a car you really like. If you get a Scion or Civic you will probably just want to upgrade it in a year or two anyways if you are making good money at poker.

I was in kinda same spot you are and held off for almost a year and a half. Came close to buying an A4, but kept hearing too many things about them not being reliable. Eventually bought a new Evo and am very happy with it.

goofy,

check out mazda 3's/6's. pretty affordable car, quick, dependable, great gas mileage, and i think look pretty nice. i got a new one recently and i've really enjoyed driving it around. plus with your price range you could get a 3 with lots of goodies in it.

pic of basic 3:

This is true, but it doesn't perform the corporate daily driver function any better than his current ride. It's just infinitely more badass.

I'm sure I'll get flamed, but if you like small Hondas:

These things pwn, and you can afford a new one w/ some cash left over to spend on audio/(video ) or whatever.

As a low-stakes balla I drive an 06 Civic Si, which I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and think is badass (feel free to flame me again). I think the Fit is more exciting than the standards Civics, though. My ex-gf had one; they are really fun to drive. If I didn't need the Si for AutoX and just needed a daily driver, I would totally rock a Fit.

Sponger: nice choice.

My next car is prolly gonna have to be the Bimmer 135.

The altima looks the best, the accord and scion are pretty gay looking.

How about something thats gunna be fun to drive and help with teh ladies? You could find a used 2005 mazda rx8 with low miles for about 20k. check autotrader there's a bunch.

OK, my final vote goes like this:

1. El Dorado obv
2. teh Porsche
3. teh RX7, just cuz they kick ass

I'd personally go with the rex just cuz its more practical of the 3.
