Default K9s in Blind defense.

Villain is 29/27/2.75, over about 100 hands. His attempted to steal blinds at about %39. Did I play this bad? Preflop? Flop? Turn?

When he bets that turn he has a hand because the J and Q might have paired him and if not he has like 9 T / K T / A K. Lower pocket pairs usually would check that turn plus gutshots too. Turn c/r accomplishes nothing.

You could 3 bet pf.

River is standard as played.

Pf is fine. Flop is close with a gs and k which might not be good but i think the implied odds if you hit your gs are enough. I would personally not raise the turn but im not sure if that is being too passive or not?

I really don't like any of this hand especially against aggro villain like this one.

PF I think is a 3b against a 40% BTN open.

I REALLY don't like the flop, you c/c w/7 outs and the BDFD, villains like this love raising any Ax on the btn so you have very little SD value UI. By just calling pf and on the flop you have effectively 0 FE especially vs an aggro btn stealer and at that point are relying wholly on your 7 outs getting only 5-1 on the flop which is close.

THEN you c/r w/your FD on the turn which is terrible since you're killing your own odds at the FD, which you would have been correct to just call with getting 4.25-1. Instead you c/r and get 3b, 'betting yourself out of the pot'.

River, was easiest decision of all.

if i'm gonna bluff, i rather c/r bluff the flop to put pressure on a small pp or something like A9.

with the way you played the flop, i suggest c/f turn. pot is small. once he also bets the turn, he prolly has it. even his drawing hands like AT-KT have you beat. i doubt he's betting 98 here.

btw, K9s is plenty of hand to raise preflop against a typical steal, in case you're wondering.

You might want to reread the board.

Against a button as aggro as him I 3 bet pre.

Then c/r the flop.

I am not c/r that turn, I wanna see this river cheaply.

If I c/r the flop, I lead the turn hoping to put pressure on weak aces and kings.

c/c, c/c, c/f, next hand.

c/r turn is classic fps. You have a nice draw and probably don't have a lot of FE vs his range after he bets the turn and given the board texture. You want to see the river and you're often charging yourself the max by raising.

A much more interesting question is whether we should 3bet pre (probably yes), although calling isn't bad.
