Default Pokerstars or other room ??

Well, I am turning 18 in little less than a month so I am thinkin about what online cardroom to start playing, a good friend of mine plays on Pokerstars but I also heard Party Poker was a way better option, especially when you are non-US ?? I mean, I am from Europe but why would I want to play on Party Poker just because I am from Europe ??

So to conclude, is Pokerstars my way to go or not ??

Being a European myself i prefer Pokerstars, but you should really base you decision on whose offering the best deals, such as deposit bonuses and rakeback.

Before Party Poker closed to American players, it was well known as having some of the softest games available on the internet. Really, many of the players there were so bad that it was like free money for the rest of us. They also had the largest overall player base, so there were always plenty of games going at all limits.

Since I'm American, I can't know how much the games there have changed in the past months. Among the major sites which are still open to U.S. players, PokerStars probably has the greatest game availability (more tables at more limits), and easily has the best customer support & rewards program.

Give both sites a try, along with any others that you've heard good things about, and see which you prefer.

To be really profitable, you need to play quite a lot on Pokerstars to be VIP player.

if you can play on party poker, you'd be foolish not to. the games are a lot softer than on pokerstars and full tilt

Party and Stars do not allow rakeback. This might be a consideration.
