CSC, you don't tell us the flop but we can piece it together pretty easily. This story scares me because I think you played every street terribly except the turn.

well, obv, but that's not the point of the story. Though the pf shouldn't be in this sit. Guy is raising suited queens here. At the time, I'd yet to start punishing him. Whatever though, the point of the story is this peel happy donkey's stunned, hurt disbelief that someone peeled an underpair in a large pot.

Another gem from last night, that I just remembered while showering (stop picturing me in the shower Howard!).

Same loose crazy Casino AZ 20/40 game as from previous post. Four limpers to SB who is easily a favorite in this field, but gives me too much respect. He raises, and I make a loose call with T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. All call.

Flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

He bets, I call, everyone calls. Turn comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. He checks, I bet, Asian lady who isn't getting out of line with raises instantly raises. At this point I am ready to muck face up when it gets folded around to me. But loose guy who could have almost any two takes two minutes and finally calls. All fold to me, and I am getting close to the right price to fill up, so I call. River is some random blank (lets make it a 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]).

I check, she bets, guy again takes forever to call, and since I showed weakness on the turn and river, I can hope she is bluffing with like KdJd and I have a better hand then the loose player. I cry and call, and we all chop...

The only things I remember saying to bdaddy were "Wow I played that bad" and "this is horrible, I need to rack up."

[/ QUOTE ]

I really need to improve here. I used to be so disciplined about leaving when my game started deteriorating or when I was tired. But lately I've just been mumbling about how bad I play and sticking around. And talking incoherently even though I haven't had a drop to drink all night. Meh.

Man I love tells. They must save me at least 4BBs per live session. Here's a hand I remember from last night where I should have lost a ton more with top set.

Lady opens, I 3-bet QQ from the BB, she calls. HU.

Flop QJ3. I bet, she calls. Turn T. Immediately she crinkles her nose and looks confused, but sits up straighter in her chair. I check, she bets, I call. River doesn't pair the board. I check, she bets in rhythm, and I actually tank for 10 seconds and almost muck but I'm not that much of a wizard yet. I make the crying call and of course she has AK.

Flop comes T-7-4 with one club.

[/ QUOTE ]

You must mean two. (Unless you really had the T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img])

[ QUOTE ]

As is not my wont, I say, "that's what I had," and show a jack. He says, "If you show one card, you have to show both."

I say, "You're right," and, with that, I shoot my other card into the muck.

[/ QUOTE ]

Awesome...just pure awesome.

very awesome...so long as you were awarded the pot w/ only 1 live card...

in some casinos i don't know what would have happened but i can imagine some horrible floor doing i don't know what with the pot lol.

Very Nice. Hmm were you wearing a bunch of full tilt gear, and the guy you thought was 2+2 was a skinny asian dude with glasses?

[/ QUOTE ]

if the full tilt gear guy was a tallish guy and the full tilt crap was bright red/gay then that guy is i think a lurker that is a reg at oceans 11 8/16.

I am super good at NL. I have been playing it for like 2 days now and can tell you unequivocally that you played this like an expert i.e. me.

I was sitting in an ok/decent $40/$80 limit hold'em game. One of the toughest players was a 50-something white woman named Kat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Great story. Kat's main game is Stud, but she's pretty good at Hold'em, too. The only thing is that she's somewhat of a gambler at heart (which is why I don't understand her freaking out at the AJ hand). She got into poker because of BJ card counting and bets on sports, the full AP gambler combo. In her book she sort of admits that she's breakeven at online poker, but by her accounts crushes the live LA games. The book is ok, funny read. Very little strategy, more of a mind-set sort of book.
