Default laying down middle set semideep

Opponent is quite passive and tight. I folded because I figured either a monster draw or KK.

Thats what I thought. This is bad. He confirmed that he had KK, so I am happy that I did it this time. However, I suppose its a losing play

If you have a solid read that the opponent is quite passive and tight, this fold seems perfectly fine to me. You've shown a heap of strength by check/raising a bet and call, and he c/r you. His almost min re-raise to $35 screams strength to me, from this type of player you'd probably be looking at something like KK PLUS a flush draw. If you're read is solid enough that he would never do this with bottom set or top two pair (which, even if he was looser he shouldn't), putting you're money in here seems pretty bad. Most likely you're up against a monster and crushed, and if he does have a big draw like AQJT with hearts you're pretty much a coinflip (although that draw isn't that big and in my experience 'tight passive' players don't c/r you with a draw, no matter how big).

Sounds like a good spot to fold to me if you're confident he has the KK... you of course the lead and redraws against any monster draw that isn't KK...

The guy limps in with KKxx? Usually, at this level people aren't that tricky unless he is playing passive and limping in with everything.

I dont know- I would just go broke here at this level because I am ahead here way more often than I am behind. I guess with the stack sizes its not horrible to fold and wait for a better spot, but how much better can you get than 2nd set on a dry board? Unless this guy is a nut peddler you gamble and get it all in.
