Default AJ flops TPTK then gets lost postflop.

aaaaaaaand another hand I seem to have butchered postflop.

Villain is a 50/4/1 crazy person.

Party Poker, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

BB: $50.75
UTG: $38
MP: $70.44
CO: $131.79
BTN: $52.01
Hero (SB): $49.50

Pre-Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (SB)
UTG calls $0.50, 3 folds, Hero raises to $2, BB folds, UTG calls $1.50

Flop: ($4.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $4.25, UTG raises to $8.50, Hero calls $4.25

Turn: ($21.50) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $8, Hero ???

I'm sure I did something horribly wrong here - just not sure what exactly.

Whats the plan from here and is a 3bet all-in on this flop my best course of action?

I think UTG is much more likely to have a pair between 5's and J's than a 4. With his stats I like a 3bet all in, i've seen 9's and 10's make crying calls here.

Im for shoving this flop as well. This could be a whole range of hands you beat. I honestly dont know what to say about the turn seeing as how we got here. He could be doing this with a draw still, a jack, or maybe he just hit his queen.

Agaisnt a villain with station stats, I push flop. He'll call you with a jacks+worse kicker.

I think calling down and launching into a string of expletives is my standard line here.

I'm definitely not laying down for 8, getting like 3.5-1.

Against this villain I think I commit on the flop and 3bet to about $20. This is certainly not a 4 and most likely a draw.

Edit: I never think about shoving, but it sounds right here. Lot's of turn cards you don't want to see. (As evidenced by this particular turn card.) I need to make more overbet shoves in these situations.

3 betting the flop is terrible here and if villain is remotely sane you are only getting called by hands that you are behind. Just call him down. I might vbet river. obv. fold to a push.

Villains vastly overrate a pair of jacks here. This villain has 50% VPIP. We can assume that he's beginning to approach insane.

in which case you still get the most value by calling or raising turn and value betting the river. massage the pot and don't give him a chance to do something smart.

Villain raises here with a lot of air, just because the flop looks so raggy.

I'm wondering how a call flop, crai on turn line would be?
