Re: BBV4L: Is there a doctor in teh house?
[ QUOTE ]
I thought about pics, but I figured it would be hard to see. And no, not trolling, very serious. I never saw anything that exploded quite like this thing did. The back of my t-shirt was as wet with blood as if I'd cut myself, and when I popped it further, the projectile covered the bathroom mirror with lots of blood. As for soaking in the tub: The thing burned so bad in the shower that I had to get out for a band-aid. I'm a pussy. (Beat.) Thanks for sharing you're experience. I hope my shoulder doesn't fall off. [/ QUOTE ] No dude, read my post. DO NOT soak in the tub!! |

I was pointing out the fact that before I posted, I had already washed the thing with warm water and it burned like hell. |

Re: BBV4L: Is there a doctor in teh house?
Most of the advice (aside from the AIDS notes) that you were given was OK.
This was almost certainly a sebaceous cyst - as the one lucky poster noted, they're bad news if infected - it doesn't sound like yours was. OTOH, if they aren't totally excised, they return. I'd go to a general surgeon for the removal rather than a plastics doc unless it was somewhere on the face or highly visable - it'd cost a lot less. MM MD |

Re: BBV4L: Is there a doctor in teh house?
Gross. I had a cebaceous cyst several years ago, only it was under my skin. I just had this huge lump on my shoulder blade. Cebum is the real name for zit pus. When it all collects in a cyst, it's a cebaceous cyst. So I have this lump, but it's below the skin so it's not red nor pop-able. I went to the dermo and he had to excise it. I'm laying there on my stomach and he shows it to me on a bloody piece of gauze. It was a solid white hunk of zit pus bigger than a marble, and it reeked worse than a camel's crotch hair. Now I wish I had saved it.
