Default Re: Indiana sucks--- harrah\'s/caesars

Please allow me to respond to this slander. If you want to make accusations about a property, you should probably gather as much information as possible. This will help you avoid looking foolish in the end.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's only slander if it's malicious, false, or defamatory. I did that on accident (when I claimed y'all had the worst comps of any US casino). I meant to write "some of the...," a statement I still believe correct. I apologize for the error (and the other one later down).

My main problems

[ QUOTE ]

A $6 time rake has been our Time rake since we began running these NL games. We ask the regular $1-$2 NL players if they would like to be included in the BBJ, and their answer was a resounding YES! While I agree that $6 is somewhat high, the average rake on the game if we took our normal 10% would be much higher. Do the math!

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't doubt that the players like it, nor that it's good business for you to use it.

Here's the math. $6/half hour = $12/hour = 3PTBB/100. Average rake at 1/2, established over 50k+ samples and all over the small a micro stakes forum, varies (due to playing styles, etc.) between ~2.15PTBB/100 and 2.5PTBB/100, only exceeding 2.65PTBB/100 at the worst limits with the worst rake.

3PTBB/100 > 2.5PTBB/100. You're incorrect.

[ QUOTE ]

For a person that knows so much about Win %, you sure haven't figured out that no matter how hard you try, you are never going to outplay the lower limit players.

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
These guys are at the Casino with $100 in their pockets and they couldn't care less about Pot Odds, or Pre-Flop Strategies. If you are basing your 2-4-4-8 play around a book, Good Luck!

[/ QUOTE ]

It's not about just being able to beat the game, it's about maximizing your profit. And yes, books help you do that. There's a reason SSHE is the limit player's bible on this forum.

[ QUOTE ]

Once again, you post is wrong. We only charge EITHER, a timed rake or take a rake from each pot. Not both as you suggested.

[/ QUOTE ]

I am in err there; I meant to type "BBJ rake." This you can tell by the numbers I used in my later posts.

[ QUOTE ]
When the traffic situation with I-64 arose we altered our Phone In time to 40 minutes, instead of 20. If you have waited over an hour for a game, then I apologize. That is rare. That being said, if you started a list of interest for a game that was not already running, and we couldn't get enough players to start a table, then it is a definite possibility. That could not be classified as the Casino's fault, could it?

[/ QUOTE ]

Again, it's not about "blaming" the casino for the traffic, no more than I "blame" Vegas for being on the other side of the country. The fault is irrelevant, but the occasional traffic and waiting time stuff is not.

[ QUOTE ]

"The worst Comps of any Casino in the US." We offer $.75/hour towards comps. These comps can be used at any food venue, and we are in the process of allowing our players to use these comps at Retail Shops and for Hotel stays. I am sure that your online site that you play at offers much better comps than us, but we are competitive with all Rooms in our region, and more generous than many established Casino's around the country.

[/ QUOTE ]

The comps are bad compared with other IN casinos. As I said before, I intended to say "some of the...," which can be verified against my other posts in the thread. I regret the error.

I appreciate you going to all this work to address my concerns, and it validates what I said about your staff. You're still the best place to play in So. Indiana, as I said before, and while your gaming conditions are not ideal, I'm not "mad" about them--I'm trying to make my money and you're trying to make yours. In a rare moment of accuracy, as the other guy said, charging the maximum the market can bear is good business. That doesn't make it good for the skilled player, though.
