I'd bet for value. The Ad coming takes away a lot of the flush draw hands he could have. The texture of the flop also eliminates some of the SCs from his range.

There are other draws that have not hit as well as just weaker pairs in his range.

I'd prefer to bet smallish here to get to a cheaper river. My plan would be then to check the river, and most likely fold to a bet.

i think any bet we make will commit us

so?

We still likely have the best hand, if not we have like 6 outs to the second nutz.

yea, sorry...I fogot this was just 100nl. This looks like a small pot to me with lots left behind

Actually, now that I think about stack sizes. The A is such a good bluff card, I really don't mind c/c here and sticking the rest in on the river.

Devin,

I've been thinking about the 888 hand. Maybe chalk it up to player dependent.

Perhaps a very small raise would be good on the turn. If he is betting a draw and puts you on an Ace he may think he has good FE. A lot of people make a quick small raise as a tester or a bluff, so he may call and either try to push you off on the river or check/call pretty light.

re: Do I bluff here?

I don't know about that line of reasoning in general. Generally we're going to take strong lines with our strong hands and weak lines (like folding) with our weak hands. Bluffs are going to generally be strong lines. With a stong hand you often take a line where people usually fold, because the when the don't you get paid off big. You sometimes bluff in that same situation because they usually fold. If you bluff to much, people won't fold enough.

At least that's the way I presently play. There may be some people who are bluffing a lot more and making more money. It seems like there's another level that some people play at where they treat a stack more like I would treat a bet. Or maybe some very aggressive players play more like their early hand action is just forcing the blinds to be higher and their late hand action is like TAG shortstacking.

Blah.
