Default Cardrooms in the US..

I am in the fortunate position at work to go to a US city for a conference. I get to choose the conference so in effect, I get to choose the city.

Other than Las Vegas, Atlantic City or most of California, where would a poker player like to go for a week in the US?

Tunica, Mississippi is where it's at!

I'm kidding, I would pick Vegas as they're very prepared for conferences, companies hold them there all the time. Tons of choice for venue and unlimited gambling opportunities I hear.

You might consider New Orleans. There is poker in town, and the company might find a break on convention rates + be able to get positive PR for supporting New Orleans comeback. I have not been there since the hurricane, but it is/was a great city. I'd be interested in recent trip reports before choosing this option.

I would not chose Memphis/Tunica at all, but maybe I just had a bad Memphis experience - I was there for 3 days and it immediately rose to the top of my list of least favorite cities in the US.

Chicago is an option as it has poker nearby in Indiana.

Other than the obvious Vegas answer, I'd probably go with NO.

Well, I've only been to a couple, but from my reading around here the generally big poker towns in the US are:

Los Angeles, CA
Las Vegas, NV
Atlantic City, NJ
Phoenix, AZ
Minneapolis, MN
Tunica, MS
Seattle, WA
SF Bay, CA
Tampa Bay, FL
San Diego, CA

I visited this site and it has a map of casinos in the Chicago area: http://www.chicagotraveler.com/maps/...asinos-map.htm

Any opinions on these? I would most likely be out near O'Hare Airport.
