Default Re: WSOP ME - AQ facing mini-raise on flop

I was thinking I should probably fold the flop, but even if he is being tricky with a middle pair like 66, he is still ahead.

I was contemplating calling and leading the turn for 4-6K if a blank hit.

ucla,
how does the minraise bluff backfire when he's so often bluffing with the best hand. how does the minraise bluff backfire if your plan is to call and try to hit without the proper odds, if he even fires the turn half the time?

Also, calling doesnt look like huge strength to a standard villain, and what good does freezing him do if he has a hand that has you beat anyway (which he generally does). Its quite possible that when he raises he wants you to fold, but so what. Even if you figure that out that doesnt mean that calling wins you the pot.

Mike, given OP's fairly specific description of villain, we just disagree on how often he's FOS here. I don't really think there's more to discuss.

I approve if your A or Q does not hit.

Sure there is: how to deal with it. If you really think he's FOS that often, a shove is much better than a call.

I'm with UCLA here.

I think villian is minraising "for information" (like everyone on stars seems to do) a lot of the time here. I think we call, and re-evaluate the turn. The express odds are pretty good, and even if we lose 2k by calling and folding later, it's not that big of a deal.

I'd probably check/call just about any turn, and value bet any river if villian checks turn behind.
