i'm pretty sure every time shaun has won the TLB he's final tabled a couple of tournaments with huge fields to go along with a lot of 180 final tables. winning it with just 180s might be hard.

If you just played $20/180s, the maximum number of TLB points you could obtain would be 3,094 (using the TLB spreadsheet). That includes 10 wins. So it would certainly be possible to win the TLB playing 20/180s alone, but it certainly wouldn't be a sure thing.

I'd say 2900-3100 is good enough to win most weeks. The good thing about the mil winner with TLB is they just won 175k+. There is a lot less motivation I am sure to play a tourney with a total prize pool less than their recent win. If you are playing the 4s as well to get it play them really laggy because first is like 218 TLB, I think. Anything less than that you prob shouldn't be using in your top 10 since 2nd is like 155.

The 2 times I won it, it was different. First time I won the 35k and 55k that week for 700 and 800 pt scores respectively with a 20/180 win or so, ended up with like 3350 for the week and won by a large margin. The recent one was no gigantic TLB score but more 200-300 pt scores. Below are the 10 tourneys I used during my recent week.

sweet, thanks guy. lots of good info in here. I thought I could get the TLB by 20-tabling the micro-180 man SNGs 12 hrs/day but apparently that's not right.

you can, it depends on the week trough sometimes other players have had good weeks and it'll take 3200 to win and some times it'll take 2700 to win just luck. One thing I noticed from a few 2+2ers if they think they are close they make a huge effort so if you happen to pass the mil winner on fri don't think it's locked up just yet.

Also, if you're going to try the small-ball TLB approach, it is probably best to do it in a week where the Million is a $500 or $1k buyin because the winner's TLB score will be significantly lower and is less likely to be won by an MTT regular.

Forgive the rather n00bish question, but it seems to me the only reward one gets for winning the weekly TLB is the heads up match vs. a team PokerStars member for $1k and the notoriety. If this is indeed the case I think you guys are borderline certifiable for caring about it . If this is not the case please do educate me as to what the prize is.
