Default AA gets beat all-in preflop! Unbelievable!

Hey guys i was playing in a home game last night with a $25 buy in and I raised and a guy went all-in. Well, I called with Aces and he had pocket sevens. Is this what you call domination?

Anyways, he made a straight and I was wondering, should I have played the hand differently? How do I keep from losing with AA?

Then, another time at camp hellmuth I had jakcs beat by queens. I never put bad beats on people but it happens all the time to me.

I'm one of the best poker players I know, and I usually win everytime I play, but I want to know how to play these hands differently so I never lose with them.

Advice appreciated!

AA is a 4:1 favourite to 77 preflop so you played the hand fine. I think that many people tend to be "results oriented" and think that when they lose a hand that means they have played it badly. However, there is certainly nothing wrong with getting all of your money in preflop with the best hand in the game, you just got unlucky.

As they say, "that's poker". One of the best skills you can learn is to deal with a run of bad luck and not "tilt".

PS. die i hate you

If you're the best player in the game, then you shouldn't be gambling in marginal situations like this. You should never play for all of your chips when you are less than a 100% favorite to win.

He's not. And it's a pathetic attempt at being funny.

aces are what you call a drawing type hand...I wouldn't commit as many chips as you did preflop with them. If someone was showing too much resistance, I'd fold, rather than risk my whole stack..that's just my opinion though.
