Don't know if this has been mentioned but if you're walking towards a door and you can't tell which side the hinges are on (especially those doors that have a bar across them that you push on), use both hands about shoulder width apart and push equally hard. Might save you some embarrasment from pushing on the side closest to the hinges and smashing into the door.
