Q: what's the rough ETA on this project? Of course i understand that if u haven't even started coding it, u won't have a specific date for us, but just ballpark it. Are we talking 3 months, 12 months, 3 years? What?

After reading this thread...
And as a software engineer myself...
It's obvious that PT must be redesigned from scratch...
And targeted directly at PO and HM.

Even with several talented engineers...
And understanding that this is ONLY a poker tracker...
That is a minimum 1-2 year project.

After getting back into poker...
And buying the latest version of PT 2 months ago...
I was ** SHOCKED ** that is was virtually the same product I bought 3 years ago.

It's really like something out of the 50s...
And looks great with a lava lamp.

If they blink and just try to tweak it...
PT is dead... if it's not already waaaaay too late.

I have exactly the opposite reaction -- i really can't believe how good it is. i don't know if I've ever opened it up and *not* been flabbergasted at the fact that i only paid $50 for this thing. I mean, honestly, knowing what i know now, I would gladly pay $5,000 for it, as would I'm sure any other high-stakes player who relies on it as heavily as I do. Now I admit that i haven't tried HM, and it may very well blow PT out of the water, but suggesting that PT is dead is redonkulous. It's an awesome, awesome piece of software that continues to deliver. Saying that it's the best $50 I have ever spent in my life would not be an understatement when u consider the gains it's helped me realize.

positional statistics displayed on screen while playing.
Auto odds calculator vs their most likely range base on position would be nice

It will not be a recurring fee. There will be a one time upgrade fee for existing PT users and a regular purchase price for new users.

I didn't read this whole thread, but I'll suggest:

More analysis tools: e.g. sklanksy bucks calculator; win rate estimation etc.

When I review a hand in the replayer, I wanna see my opponents stats.

Hand converter for 2+2 (or at least an addon)

Session review feature, so I can easily take notes on someone's session, and share it easily with other reviewers.

I wanna be able to click on a 'session review' button and have a customizable routine that automatically forces me to review my session step by step

Same thing with a stats review, customizable routine that makes me go thru a certain number of stats after a certain amount of hands. I wanna be able to share the routine with other players.

It would be cool if some of the best players would be able to program their review routine, share it with me so that I review the exact same stuff. And then I could save the review session and send it to someone.

That is so quotable. I've been using it for 2+ years and every other week or so STILL get the urge to pm Pat and thank him (for about the millionth time). It usually comes up during analysis and even with the big holes there, I can't get over how much I can do with the thing.

You should REALLY try HoldEm Manager. The bar has been set, lets see what PT and PAHUD will deliver.

Most of what I use pt for is analysis and it would be nice if I could save its state at any particular time (db in use, prefs/date settings, filters and games tab). Being able to save a half dozen or so of these snapshots that I can load again would be extremely handy. And I don't mean just an option to save when I'm closing pt but something I can invoke at any point in time.

I'd also like it if the window something-or-other on menubar reflected much more specific titles. Right now I can have a number of dbs/limits stat windows opened but the way they're titled on that menubar entry is very ambiguous and either difficult or impossible to distinguish between them without actually switching to it to see what it is.
