testing the rake at .25-.50 limit on FTP.
I am putting aside $200 dollars to test out the lowest limit to see if i can beat a 5% rake with poor players and if so how much. I plan on 4-6 tableing 9 handed games and play until I reach 50,000 hands. I know it sounds fullish but is is a cheaper way to find out. I plan on it taking me about two months. Has anybody ever tried this? Any sugggestions?

Re: testing the rake at .25-.50 limit on FTP.
Well, first off, last time I checked the rake at .25/.5 on full tilt amounted to about 2.5bb/100. That's an awful lot to overcome. I assume you're talking about texas holdem although you don't say. I think that other games are probably more beatable than holdem, because people are much more awful at them. In particular I'm thinking stud/8, omaha/8 or stud hi. I tried to beat .25/.5 razz and couldn't do it over about 10k hands, although I was beating it for an awful long time. I ended up at about -.5bb/100 (which means pre-rake I was making 3bb/100, not bad)
I'd love to see if someone could beat it for 50k hands. |

Beating 6 max .25/.50 pretty easily and I only play half of the hands at a site with rakeback. Sample size is only about 10k so I still have a giant ways to go till 50k, and could just and probably is variance. Might help you a bit though. About 3.5bb/100.
