Flopping the best hand from BB
I think my 4th hand at a brand spanking new Commerce 4-8 game
1, 2, 3, 4 people come along and I check Q9 in the BB 987 flop with two clubs, I have the nine of clubs. Bet or go for the c/r And if I did happen to bet and the action went something like SB checks, I bet, EP calls, MP raises, and it folds around to me would you three-bet here? or just call and donk a safe turn? |

b/c and re-evaluate the turn.
3 betting is ludicrous. |

Re: Flopping the best hand from BB
Grunch. Bet out and just call the raise.
I may prepare to raise a safe turn card though. I wonder if this is a spot where we might want to check the flop and raise a safe turn to protect, since there are a zillion cards that we'll hate on the turn. |

Re: Flopping the best hand from BB
No 3 betting this flop. Your hand is way too vunerable and your position needs to be considered.
At least in 4/8, the c/r is a much more powerful play on the turn then at the flop. So if you get an average card on the turn, donk. If you get a good card c/r, and if a horrible card shows up, like the T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], check, and if the action warrants, c/f. If you get to c/r the turn, that should give you some control on the river. If river runs badly, and it sure could here, you've set it up to get a shot at a free card by threatening to release another c/r. |

b/c, donk a safe turn. your holding is moderately weak, but can stand some heat.

Re: Flopping the best hand from BB
With this many people on a drawy board, you would think betting out and protecting your hand would be a good idea; but with so many ways to be beat on the next card, I would opt for a c/c or a c/f depending on the action. See what the TURN brings and go from there.
I think a c/r is useless unless it is checked to the button, otherwise you are not facing the field with 2 cold. As for part 2 of the question I would probably fold as your hand is marginal at best. Picking a better spot seems like a good idea. Peace, Mygtar |
