Default Live Game: A7s from SB

My $1/2 home game - 9 handed

Villian is a smart guy who grasps some poker concepts and has learned a lot since he started playing with us two years ago (he was a total newb then). He can be aggressive, yet is not a maniac. He can fold some big hands when he feels he is beat. In other words, he is not the usual giant fish that our home game regularly features.

Hero is SB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
3 limpers, Hero completes, BB checks

Flop (5 SBs)
A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Hero bets, BB raises, 3 folds, Hero ???

Based on my knowledge of this guy and his actions so far, his hand range seems VERY narrow, and I think I know the correct play here - I just want to check with you guys first.

Ya think? If that's true, then I made the right play. But I felt I was WB much more than WA here (I only decided I was WB, after the hand was done and I thought about it some more).

Here is the range I put him on where he is ahead...
44/88/A8/A4/A9/AT (although he probably would have raised AT PF)
Here is the hand I feel I am beating...
A6

I have played with this guy for years now and I feel very confident in this range for him. So based on that, I am drawing extremely thin/dead to so much of his range. I thought it was a BF situation based on the range I gave him, but maybe that was wrong too (Boz just told me BF is seldom right).

daniel,

look, it's your read. you were there. if this guy is never raising with a worse hand, then fold. most of the time, read on person >>>> math.

that said, don't forget that you have a weak BDSD, often have a 3-outer, and usually have some chop outs.
