Default NL400 fold turn here?

I am on the button with 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

MP3 14/5/3 limps, I limp OTB and SB folds and BB checks.
MP3 and I don't have much history, although he took a 50BB pot off me when I called him down the whole way after he outflopped me.

Pot $14 with 3 to the flop.

Flop 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
check-check-I bet 8-fold-call

Pot $30 heads up.
Turn K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
check-I bet 16-raise to 40 ...

I realize I could be drawing dead to 77 or 4 outs vs 56 or a flush.

I think this is really interesting hand. Have you considered checking the turn?

Vs a 14/5/3 type if I was going to play this hand I would raise preflop or fold. They are ez $. Usually either fold preflop or call and fold flop. (generally speaking of course)

Other than that your bet sizes seem to be all too small. Bet it like you got it. $12 flop, as played $20 turn.

As played IDK what to tell you. The raise is so small I think a call is in order, but that leaves you in a tricky spot on rvr UI if he bets big.

I called and river was a king counterfitting my hand vs K-clubs, X={A,Q,J}not clubs.

He bet big and I folded.

However, I wonder if I should have even called turn and thought this was an interesting hand, and am surprised there was not many replies here.

Well at least it made your river decision ez.

If you take the price you are getting on the call, the chance your hand is good, and the implied odds you get if you do fill up - I think the turn is a call.

I don't think you have to worry about reverse implied odds, all of your outs should be good.

I didn't want to check the turn because I didn't feel I could give a free card to a naked flush draw or any pair 55,66,88,99,TT where there are too many outs to kill my hand.

I meant to look into this the other day because we had a thread going about this topic. Someone referred to a thread in MSNL forum where the seemed to agree on letting the turn go by in situations like this. I've not seen the thread, so I can't comment on it or it's application to your hand here. I'll see if I can dig it up tho.

i think fold on the turn there is the right move.. if he doesnt have you beat yet (which i think he did), then there are too many scare cards on the river that would make it hard to call his last bet.

also, i think your bet of 16 out of a 30 pot might induce a tight aggressive player into making a bluff, so i would try to show more strength..

just my opinion though

p.s. i dont think qtip's suggestion of checking the turn is a bad idea.. your bottom two isn't really that strong of a hand in this situation, so I dont think you should be thinking about protecting. Checking behind him lets you see how the board plays out, and keeps the pot small for an easy river call

What kind of hands does this guy limp in L/MP? I'm assuming he'd raise most non-baby pairs pf. If he did limp into a set, would he really call behind rather than raise on this flop in a limped pot? His turn c/r is rarely 1 pair w/ fd, which is the best you can hope for. It looks too much like you're drawing to 4 outs way too often, and going to have to pay for any showdown.
