Mistake, where?

Heres the deal
8$ 2k tournument on VC poker
avarage stack is around 4k i have 6,2k

Im dealer +2 folded to me i have A9o

blinds are 150/300
I raise it to 900, instant call from dealer big stack 13k
Pot 2,12k

Flop comes 289, I hit top pair, no hidden dangers on the board( or so I thought)
I raise 1k, he reraises 1k, I now have 4k left, I cant just fold here, and I know if I call I eventually have to put my money in here. So I push the rest 4k.
He calls and have pocket 8, no help and im gone.
Should I done anything different?

This is completely opponent dependent. How many hands is the big stack playing? How often is he reraising? Also, what is your image? Against some opponents this is an insta-fold and against others it is an insa-push, so without reads its tough.
