Default 2-7 Rule in NL10 Cashgame

Hi,
Has anyone tried out playing Cashgame NL10 SH on a homegame ? If so, did u also tried to play the 2-7 rule ?

For those who dont know the rule:
If you win a Pot with 27s or 27o no matter how, by bluffing or just having the best hand, you will receive 2BBs (this Amount is my personal proposal) from everybody playing on your table.
Ive seen that Rule on High Stakes Poker Season 4 . It was so much fun watching it.

I've seen it in clubs as well, and it's absolutely idiotic. Why anyone would want to participate in this is beyond me. You will lose considerably more trying to accomplish this than you ever could by getting the bonus.

The thing is you will get payed off more with good hands aswell cause people might put you on 72.
It just adds another aspect to the game

Who would play this? This is like a guy at my table over the weekend who would play any hand with a 3 in it not matter what the raise just to try and hit the quad 3's jackpot.

The same type of person who plays the sucker bets in craps or hits on 7 7 in blackjack against a dealer 6 because you can get a jackpot for 777 21 or the same person who shells out 200/week or more on lottery tickets and scratch and wins- they have "magical" thinking.

But as previous poster mentions- if a group wants to do it- let them do it and you can reap from their tenacity as you toss away every 72.

hahahahah thats a good one

I liked the guy who was trying to tell me that he hits a gutshot about 1/10th of the time and he had missed the previous 9 so he was sure to hit the next one. When he missed, he said "what a bad beat, my hands never hold up at this place" and he was completely serious. One player at the table spit their drink out they burst out laughing so hard even tho he tried to hold it in.

Thats great, I love getting into hands with these guys cause even if one of their cards comes, they are in until the river. Plus the amount of time that that gutshot hits or the quads and you're beat is a lot less than the the time where you take it down.

If you play a good NL10 cashgame with enough morons in it to make it valuable, there should be enough action in it, and there is no need to force more action.

I suggested that in a home game once and ended up taking about 50BBs from a guy trying to bluff against my TPGKwFD with 72o.
