Default Samsung LN-S3251D vs Sony KDL-32S2010 (Warning: another TV Thread)

I'm using my FPPs to purchase the OneCall.com gift card to purchase a 32 inch LCD TV (thoughts?). I have narrowed it down to two choices (I think). I looked at both of these today and they both look great. The Samsung at BestBuy was the DX version, is there a big difference?

The Samsung LN-S3251D:

The Sony KDL-32S2010:

According to Cnet ( http://reviews.cnet.com/4323-6531_7-....html?tag=txt. ), the Samsung is the best 32 inch LCD out right now, so I'm kinda leaning in that direction. The bad thing about this is that they are back ordered on OneCall.

Thoughts?

Both are very good makes, but I go for the Sony here since the prices are comparable. The Bravia's are somewhat newer I believe and Sony makes amazing tvs regardless. My friend has the 27" (I think) version of that Samsung. It's nice, but not noticably different from my 32" Polaroid that only cost me $900. The Sony's from my experience have a noticably better picture, color, etc.

Just my two

Why are you set on onecall?

Just checked Pricegrabber and you can get the Sony for a grand at Butterfly which is very reputable.

If you want to drop $1,300 - $1,400, you can get a 42" 1080p set for that.

The cheapest one - the Westinghouse is actually highly rated on some AV sights.

edit - doh! I suck at reading comprehension on the onecall deal.

Sony no long has any kind of lead on quality in electronics. Plus they will happily screw you over given the chance. Remember the rootkit fiasco?

Sony is also trying to find new ways to screw you, and it isn't even implemented well!

Sony is a sleazy company, that isn't run well. I wouldn't waste my money on those [censored].

Get one that plays 1080p so that you won't have to upgrade in 2-3 years when 1080p is new technology. I personally can notice a difference b/w 760 and 1080i and 1080p.

For anyone that has gotten a gift certificate through pokerstars, how long did it take for them to e-mail it?

Buy the Samsung, but not from OneCall, I ordered mine from Amazon. Right now J&r are the only ones selling on Amazon, but once the site gets theirs in, you can get it for $1050 with free shipping.

All,

I am "set" on OneCall.com b/c it is my only option. I plan on getting the $1000 gift card via FPP points on PokerStars. The TV will be essentially free - so minor price differences are insignificant.
