Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] -- Hand 3 Check call that turn most of the time I guess. As played fold to the allin. [/ QUOTE ] Fold getting 3:1? I guess you think my two pair / trips outs are never good? [/ QUOTE ] Not never, but often enough that a call is a slight -EV bet. You pair/ trips draw plus flushdraw do certainly not add up to >11 outs total. Better two pair hands (AJ, A7) are often in his range. |

Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
[ QUOTE ]
#1 bet the turn #2 I might just call the turn again, I dont like the min raise at all it shows too much strenght. I would also raise the flop alot #3 I would check the turn #4 slightly more preflop, really need stats for this hand but I think you should fold the turn #5 Bet the turn, call if he shoves the rest #6 fine #7 depends on villain but I fold river #8 I dont like calling raises with this hand, especially vs a short stack. Postflop is fine [/ QUOTE ] Agree with most of this. I don't mind how hand 4 and 7 was played though. I raise more in hand 8 on the flop, given your raise the call of the push is probably slightly -EV, maybe neutral. The 2 greatest mistakes here is not betting the in hand 1 and 5 imo. |

Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think hand #8 tollay sucks unless you have some kind of read on the villian. Doesn't an under the gun raise mean strength and don't you need a bigger hand to call a raise than to make one. At the very least RR to isolate.

Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
Some general comments:
Be more aggressive on the turn in general. You need to price out draws rather than go for pot control in some of these. There are plenty of coolers out there, but I also think that when youre having a session like this, you should tighten up considerably. I dont know what your normal VPIP is, but 27 is fairly high. |

Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
Of all those hands, you played one hand correctly--the one where you had AA on the KJJ board.
My advice: get a coach. |

I would recommend the coach more because there may be situations you think are standard whereas in fact they aren't.

Re: NL100: Do I Suck or Do I Run Bad?
I really, realllllly appreciate all the advice/comments in this thread. I'm going to post a lot more hands now. I think a coach is the least practical solution for my situation. I'm really busy and it would probably be hard scheduling sesssions and stuff. I'll probably sign up for cardrunners asap; I've heard only good things about them.
