Default Absolute poker locked my acct and took my money

I tried to log in to Absolute Poker yesterday but to no avail. I emailed them and then they e-mailed me back with the following:

[ QUOTE ]

Please note that the reason why you are not able to get in the game is because
we have found that your account is linked to some other accounts which have
performed illegal / fraudulent activities at our site.

[/ QUOTE ]

When I asked how I get my money back I got the following response:

[ QUOTE ]

I'm sorry to inform you that not only your account was closed but the money that
there was in there was confiscated.

[/ QUOTE ]

Here is the history of my account.

1) When Neteller announced it would pull from Canada I decided to put my money to casinos and poker sites and keep it there until I decide on what ewallet I will use.
2) So I did it. Poker rooms used included AP. I did not have an account there at that time, so I opened it and deposited $2000 on April 8
3) On April 9 I transfered $250 to an AP account of a friend of mine for whom it was too late to use Neteller.
4) On Aptil 11 I opened a Click2pay account and deposited US$20 with it.
5) On April 17 cashed out US$1000 to Click2pay. Another US$700+ still remaining in my account
6) My playing activity was close to inexistent. I would say I only tested their software by playing some very low limit games.

My friend also had his account closed and money confiscated. Interestingly, he got the same reasoning from them "is linked to other accounts that were involved in suspicious and/or fraudulent activity".

I did not transfer money to anyone else, neither did he. We know each other personally and live nearby. He never cashed out from AP. He also did not get a chance to play much. We never sat at the same table.

I can't think of what we violated. At least, the reasoning they gave us is bogus: accounts locked for being linked to one another.

I did not have any problems with other poker rooms and casinos I used.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm hate pointing out the obvious, but you should have at least played some. You can't just use them as a money transfer service because it costs them money to accept deposits. Other than that, they can't just TAKE your money because they're suspicious. They could tell you that you can't withdraw until you play more but I don't get this "we get to keep your money".

Seems like if the only person you transferred money to, is your friend, then you might want to ask him if he did anything bad. That and you could have at least played some poker to create the impression that you weren't using them only as a money transfer service.

Seems like you deposited, played nothing, tried to withdraw using a method other than Neteller.

I played some and planned to play more. So did my friend. I did not cash out the full amount. My friend did not cash out at all.

I said "close to inexistent". Which means I only played little. Sorry about any confusion, I am not a native English speaker.

As I said, he did not. I know him personally, and trust him. Moreover, his account was closed not for fraudulent activity but for being linked to an account with fraudulent activity.

So our accounts are only linked to each other.
None of us did anything fraudulent or even was accused of it by AP
Both of us were accused of being linked to an acct with fraudulent activity.

WTF?

You're in a tough situation. If you've done nothing wrong, then I feel sorry for you to have your account screwed up over a person to person transfer.

If you didn't do that transfer to your friend, you could probably have just played more and withdrawn after generating sufficient rake.

If they are loosing money due to payment processors' fees I do not mind they charge me for it. Maybe 2% of 5% of my deposits. But not 50% or 100%.
