He seemed pretty aggressive overall so a flush draw might be part of his range for that donk-bet. On the other hand, weīre both pretty deep (40++ bb) and thereīs only one player left to go on the bubble so he probably wouldnīt do that on a flush draw alone. Still, thereīs only one hand I donīt beat. Whatīs the correct way to play this? |

If he won't fold then put him all-in. You are definitely ahead right here.

Re: Middle set vs aggro opponent on the bubble
i just dont see him having AAxx here if hes an agro villan - he didnt bet from the SB pre, and then checked the flop, refusing to re-raise when given the oppertunity.
if you want to win these things you need to get your money in situations like these - i see him having AJ and 77 as often as AA here, and thats discounting all the possible draws - even if hes got AAxx you still have 5 outs and you have him covered so you're not out the only reason i would fold here would be if i had a big chip lead and was running all over the medium stacks on the bubble, and by losing my stack i would be losing that edge. |

Re: Middle set vs aggro opponent on the bubble
needless to say, he HAD aces. i didnīt even think about that when the turn came and hence shoved instantly. nice setup i guess.
with hindsight, that turn bet after a flat call on the flop seems to scream uber strength. he probably would have gotten all my money anyway - even after a check-raise on the flop -, but i shouldīve been warned once a usually aggro player gets tricky, only calls a flop bet and then actually commits himself to the hand on a turn that cannot have improved his hand in any kind of way. seems like he just wanted to see a safe turn to put all his money in. still not sure wether thereīs any way to get away from that hand after the flop. still not sure wether thereīs any way to get away from that hand after the flop. [/ QUOTE ] with these stack sizes you are losing a ton of value if you are folding second nuts in these spots |
