Laptop+Monitor help

I just bought a new laptop and was wondering if the following is possible.

A) Plug in a monitor and setup both screens so I can play poker on the larger monitor and chat/surf on the laptop simultaneously.

B) Do A but still have the laptop function by itself if I take it somewhere.

All I have accomplished so far is plugging in the monitor and having it mirror the laptop screen, however I am retarded with computers. [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Help mucho appreciated.

Right click on the desktop and go to Properties. In the Settings tab, you can extend your desktop to this monitor.

My problem now is that when I open my 4-6 tables of party and cascade them, they defualt to the smaller monitor. How can I set it up so the tables cascade evenly on my 2nd (bigger) monitor?
