Default Pokerwire Thread - Speculation on why Sebok, Huff, and Smith are back?

I was surprised, and happy, when Huff, GSmith, and Sebok started up the new Pokerwire radio show. I was wondering if anyone knew the exact reason for making a comeback (since I thought Huff wasnt interested in doing a pokershow, in order to pursue other career interests). Just wanted to ask to see if anyone knew the reason why they are continuing to do a show....

Maybe it is just for the week because they are in LA. I don't think I heard it was permanent.

Some type of fallout at Cardplayer?

Gavin rips cardplayer pretty badly in his latest myspace blog.

That may have something to do with it.

I could see cardplayer cutting the show off. These shows make zero money, so someone may have came in and said "no mas" to the show, and that pissed them off.

Read a rumour that Huff, Smith and Sebok wanted some sort of compensation for doing the show, but CP said no.

From Gavin:

"We don't know if this will be permanent or not but for now let's just all have a great time!"

Joe Stapleton is the replacement for Scott Huff at non-LA events so it'll probably last as long as they want the show to last for.

There could be a variety of reasons as to why Gavin and Joe went to Pokerwire to continue the radio show.

* Helps promote Full Tilt.
* Helps promote the Rawvegas TV show.
* They like it

OT: I can't wait to know Gavin and Joe's reaction to Antonio Esfandiari and Phil Laak's TV show is.

The format for both shows isn't new and the challenges/tasks are nowhere near as heinous as Kenny vs Spenny (the 'tattoo of winner's initials on the other's ass or pay $5,000' forfeit is a little unsettling though).

It wouldn't surprise me if that's the case. As I said before, those radio shows make ZERO dollars. You have to buy equipment, pay some intern type people to hook stuff up, ship the equipment around (if you're going to be on location), etc, etc....

It's a lot of money to spend on something that brings in nothing.

Then you have the "hosts" wanting to be paid?

I'll predict this show is off the air by the time the WSOP gets here.....

Sorry, that should have been rawvegas.tv show. It's some thing they do for some internet website.
