TDA-5 vs. TD2-7
I notice that the vast majority of the threads about Triple Draw are about the 2-7 game. When I look at the TD section on UltimateBet there's about twice as good of a chance of catching a 2-7 game going as an A-5 game.
Any particular reason why it is more popular? I can't be the ONLY person who prefers A-5, can I? The only thing that jumps out at me is that it is the more complicated game - more ranks of cards likely to be kept, so harder to know which ones your opponent might have - but it's not at all obvious to me that that is a good thing, for a game that already has a playing mechanism more complicated than the alternatives. |

Re: TDA-5 vs. TD2-7
2-7 is easier to beat for experts, A-5 is perceived to be easier to beat for fish (but its not).

Re: TDA-5 vs. TD2-7
There's less bluffing or reason to bluff in A-5 because its easier to draw to a decent hand. It's much more of a value-betting game than 2-7. If everyone understands the value of hands, it's a bit more automatic than 2-7 and harder to find leaks/edges to exploit.

Re: TDA-5 vs. TD2-7
I seems that the mere fact that in 2-7 there is a "low" card (the 6) that severly cripples the value of hands is enough to open up a ton of mistakes for fish to make and a ton of money for good players to make.
