My river aggression is quite low so I'm looking for more value bets. Try as I might, I can't find one here. Does anyone value bet this river?

Bet about $2.75 - $3 on the turn.

Looks like a missed FD so i doubt you will get much. I'd probaly fire $2 and hope he had A5 or something.

I've been testing the waters with various bet sizes on the turn trying to balance pot control with betting for value and to offer incorrect odds for those on a draw. My turn bet here means that Villan has to win roughly a half pot sized bet from me on the river to have correct implied odds to make the call. If the third spade hits, I can probably find a fold (perhaps) if he donks like a pot sized bet.

I seem to be in the minority here, but I like the check behind on the river. Do we really get called by a 5 or a 9 (or worse) nearly as often as we get called with a 3 or a Q?

That's how I was looking at it. However, I suppose he might call often enough with small/middle pocket pairs to make it a thin value bet.
