Default San Diego Padres Post Season Thread

Guaranteed a one game playoff, but a win and they are in. I am a bandwagoner, I go to some games, I like them okay. I don't know if they have any real fans at 2+2.

Up 1-0 after 1. Chris Young, if he is right, this is a tough little squad.

Wow, this game is pitiful to watch. Are they trying to display how NOT to score runs?

Top 5 Giles doubles on first pitch, then next hitter tries to bunt him to third, and pops up to Fielder at first. 1 out, then Giles tries to steal 3rd and gets thrown out. They spent two outs trying to get a guy from 2nd to 3rd.

Then bottom 5, someone gets on first, then Bush tries to sacrifice him to 2nd, and bunts into a freaking double freaking play. 2 outs, nobody on. Next hitter Ricky Weeks homers.

This is painful. After Billy Beane wrote Moneyball about himself, why didn't he send a copy to each manager/GM?

Well, see the Padres are getting ready for post season and you have to manufacture runs in the playoffs.

Doesn't DePodesta work for the Padres in some capacity?

Well its going to come down to the old crafty closer Trev vs. the young lefthanded hitting MVP candidate Prince Fielder. See what the kid can do.

Watch out, now that they have lost the division, Fielder can focus on his main goal of spiting his father.

Seriously man he is one pissed off kid. I saw on HBO, but I can't remember the beef, pops is a deadbeat dad? Wish my dad gave me one in a million hand eye coordination and a explosive bat, I'd forgive a lot.
