Well Hells Bells Trevor does it
Congrats to a class act, Trevor Hoffman, all-time leader in saves. He struck out the first 2 pirates and got the NL leading hitter to ground out to short for the final out in a 2-1 victory.
Gotta love a guy that works hard, come through time and again under pressure. He adjusted when his fastball faded, and he's still going strong. ERA under 2.00 this year at age 38. Very nice. I was at yesterdays game, along with 43000 others, to see him tie the record, once again in a 2-1 game. Much respect for a big time big leaguer. |

Re: Well Hells Bells Trevor does it
It bothers me that MLB isn't making a big deal about this. There is hardly a single pitching record left to be broke because most of them were set in the dead ball era. This should be huge news and it's barely making waves.
Then again, maybe they are just waiting for Mo to get the record! |

The Dugout: Trevor, you Have a Save Problem
It's not that great of an all-time record if the guy who held it can't even get into the Hall of Fame. That being said, nh Trevor. |
