AA flops top set. how do i play this w/o the lead?
I've been pretty active as far as pfr's and c-bets are concerned but haven't played a 3-bet pot yet.
haven't seen villian get out of line at all. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (4 handed) pokerhand.org hand converter Hero ($56.85) SB ($24.55) BB ($51.15) UTG ($26.85) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Hero raises to $2, 1 fold, BB raises to $4.5, Hero calls $2.50. Flop: ($9.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $6.5, Hero ??? |

call, it will be easy to get the money in with position here even just calling the flop. i would reraise such a small raise preflop though.

board is bone dry and we've got the best hand - normally i'd say raise, but that'll scare off hands that we've got crushed.
since he wants to wear the daddy pants and try to control this hand, i say call the flop bet and see what kind of action the turn brings. |

Call flop, pot will be $22 on the turn, If villain fires again on the turn you may be able to get all the money in on the turn, otherwise all in on the rivero would be nice.

Re: AA flops top set. how do i play this w/o the lead?
If you float a lot, call the flop bet and fire the turn for a little more than half the pot if he checks.
If he fires again on the turn there's lots of ways to play it and he's pretty much pot committed. Sometimes I call a turn bet and sometimes I minraise it. If he checks I'd bet half the pot or something. |
