Canadian poker documentary airs Sun. Nov.4th on CBC Newsworld(Canada).

[Poker Face]

This 90 minute documentary is called Poker Face and follows my quest to become the next WSOP champion. No, not really. Although it IS called Poker Face, it actually follows 4 other poker pros, during the 2006 WSOP. They are: Isabelle Mercier (yummy), Joe Hachem, Luca Pagano, and Fabrice Soulier. It airs at 10 pm eastern (or repeated at 1am) on CBC Newsworld, Sunday Nov. 4th.
Note:I got the names of the last two poker players mentioned, from a very brief pokerstars blog.

I was in Paris on vacation and actually bought this on DVD there since I had never seen it or even heard of it in the states. The DVD is called "That's Poker" I will have to check it again but I seem to remember most of it being spoken in English. There is some in French. The DVD can be set for subtitles in English, French or German. I am also thinking the voice overs are actually available in all three languages. It is decent though I think I paid 20-25 Euros which may have been a little pricey. The DVD played on my region 1 player with no problems.

Any chance this is going to repeat? I couldn't tell from the CBC schedule, and I missed it the first time around. A rip of the video would also suffice.

I believe that they rerun the "Passionate Eye" documentaries on Monday nights at 10pm eastern(according to their website) several weeks or months behind the Sunday airings. Of course, it will eventually most likely run again on Sunday at 10pm + 1 am eastern, once all the new ones are finished for the season. It could take awhile, but I'm sure they'll show it again (99% sure). Maybe they might even air it on CBC Country Canada or the CBC itself sometime in the future.

So far, I only watched part of it (note: there's english narration at beginning), but it reminded me of that British WSOP(2006?) documentary that I saw awhile back on the the Canadian Gaming? channel (CGTV). Very basic and low key. Maybe it gets better later on. Au Revoir(chow).

No way the CBC is going to present poker as anything other than a social ill.
They will at least be smart about though. No Republican/Frist-like BS about poker being against morality and god or whatever.
