Default NL25 - middle set faces turn warfare

I'm currently in the midst of a 10 ish buyin downswing, caused by some combination of getting sucked out on to a ridiculous extent, and me just sucking. This hand shook my confidence a bit - did I misplay it, and if so, how?

Played about 3 orbits at the table, all unknowns. I'd been playing fairly tight. Table was fairly loose, villains both seemed pretty run of the mill:

Full Tilt Poker, $0.10/$0.25 PL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
LegoPoker Hand History Converter

UTG: $37.40
MP: $24.20
CO: $28.70
BTN: $12.50
SB: $17.60
Hero (BB): $22.60

Pre-Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
UTG raises to $0.50, MP calls $0.50, 2 folds, SB calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.25

Flop: ($2) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $1, MP calls $1, SB folds, Hero calls $1

Turn: ($5) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 Players)
Hero checks, UTG bets $2.50, MP raises to $5, Hero raises to $13.75, UTG folds, MP raises to $22.50, Hero calls $7.35 and is All-In

Preflop and flop both look good although I like to lead the betting on the flop with a set esp. into the preflop raiser. You definetly have to bet at least $3.50 on the river but it seemed to work out well with everyone getting all on. MP have 88?

If you are not going to lead here which I am completely cool with, then I believe you have to c/r. There really is no point in going into extensive slow playing at these limits. As played, I would definitely just shove over MP's raise on the turn. I dont think there is anyway youre getting away from the turn though TBH. I guess he had either 88 or 57. If he had 57 this is shows one of the main reasons what you must raise this flop, youre giving draws amazing odds to draw out on you.

What are you thinking slowplaying this 4 handed? I probably lead flop w/o a read and try to get it AI on the flop. Failing that, I'd try to get it in on the turn.

In other words, I'd bet all 3 streets for value vs unknowns, sometimes CRing the flop if I thought Villain would bet.

Slow playing a set on that board is fine heads up. 4-handed, though, you want the money in ASAP.

the only reason to check the flop is for check-raising

C/c this flop is so bad. We don't C/c with sets in 4way pot with a straight draw on the table; if we check, we raise it and try to get it all in.
