Thoughts on The White Stripes? I think "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground" is a ridiculously good song. I've only really been able to get into a few of their songs though. Also "I think I smell a rat" is a pretty good song as well.

Man, you guys don't know much about hair.

OK, my bitch. For the second consecutive day I woke up too late to drive back to my hometown (about 1:30 - 1:45 away) in time to make it to the doctor and get my adderall prescription refilled. Of course we have a catch-22 here: Without it I'm listless and don't get [censored] done. But I can't get up to get it taken care of without it.

So here's my question, does anyone have any tips for waking up in the morning, that will work consistently? My body just has an utter refusal to wake up until it's done sleeping. Alarms don't work, phone calls don't work... if I don't want to wake up yet, nothing will stop me, even if I "know" it's important. Anyone have any suggestions for waking up in the morning, and actually getting awake and staying awake, without being miserable, that don't involve doing a fat line as soon as you get out of bed?

They're great. Jack White is a ridiculously good songwriter and guitarist. Start with White Blood Cells (their best one), then get the self-titled album and De Stijl, then Elephant.

I'm gonna put on "Astro" right now. That song is sweet.

I have the same problem - I hear the alarms, but don't give a [censored] as if there's an alarm set - it's usually to remind me I have to do somthing unpleasant.

There WAS a period back in the day when I was in a cutting phase and taking Xenadrine RF-1 (or whatever the ephedra based version that worked was - std ECA stack). I would get up in the morning, pop two, and be ready to go in 10 min or so. Strangely, I've always been an upper guy, and loved the feeling, which in turn had a pavlovian effect. I actually started looking forward to waking up early just to take my drugs in the morning.

Beat: They made my heart beat out of my chest about 2X a day.

Seriously though, that was the only time I really looked forward to getting up in the morning. Er, I guess I still enjoy an occasional session if I allow myself to take performance enhancing drugs before hand.

So, yeah, no - no way to enjoy waking up with out drugs apparently.

Nothing like mixed amphetamine salts FTW.

I struggle with getting out of bed in the morning to go to work every day because I'm basically Rip Van Winkle. What I've learned:

- Wear PJs to bed - usually I just sleep in boxers or sometimes basketball shorts but the fact that I'm freezing ass cold when I get out of bed in the morning is a HUGE deterrent to doing so. Putting on warm clothes in bed = not freezing cold = more open to getting out of bed.
- Use an alarm but make sure you have to get out of bed to turn it off.
- Consider using a second alarm which is farther away than the first one, is more annoying, and is set to a time later than the first one when you basically have to get out of bed.

My alarm is the Bill Fillmaff theme song blasting on my cell phone, and it works pretty [censored] well for at least getting me to get out of bed to turn it off (even if sometimes I get right back into bed) because while it is comedic genius, it's also pretty annoying after the 500th morning you've woken up to it.
