I think it's a fine play. We'll say jacks are three outs, 7 nut flush outs, and 2 for a Q. Assuming he has aces, that gives you ~10 outs for 2 cards. I say your play is fine here, maybe not always the best, but it's OK.

I really doubt he has aces, considering how long he thought for. Of course that timing tell could be super-fake, but I believed he had like a set of sixes. My table image is very tight.

Play is fine, but why raise the initial bet? I raise with good draws because I am either ahead or have fold equity. Against short stack, fold equity is low anyway. Plus if you let bb call, you only lose some value on your straight draw, while you may get BB to stack off with worse fd if you just call.

I used aces as they are the nuts - just to see the outs of against the nuts on the flop and I think it's a fine play. If he doesn't have aces, then you have even more outs and make it all the better.

I thought I had FE. I thought most players would throw away 66 or AT, risking money to be way behind or just slightly ahead. I didn't think too much about if there is some kind of short stack mindset though

I think he means he thought he had FE on the initial raise to $6.5.

Once you raise the flop, which is perfectly fine though just calling is ok too, getting it in for his last $10 is standard.

Yes, if he has a set it's a neutral EV decision, and if he has two pair it's positive. If we're unlucky and he has blockers and get less than 40-60 it will be slightly negative for a few bucks, but it's probably still worth it for table image
