Default 2/4 65s from BB

Literally first hand at table, so no reads.

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

Preflop: Hero is BB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
2 folds, MP1 raises, 5 folds, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero raises, MP1 3-bets, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero calls.

River: (7.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets, Hero folds.

Seems standard, just want to make sure.

PF call ok?
Flop c/r ok?
River fold standard?

Standard. Although a flop bet is good as well.

PF is close as this is likely a legitimate holding, but whatever. Everything looks perfect (although playing your draws in a passive manor is fine as well).

I dunno, i'd probably call the river this time since it's my first hand at the table and I don't want people thinking I do a lot of folding. Besides it would be pretty awesome if you were good and villian felt owned right away. PF call is slightly on the bad side in my opinion.

Hi,

i wouldn´t have played 56s after the MP raise.
Assuming a "normal" play from middle position he ought to have a solid hand.
You were lucky to get the good straight chance on the flop although it has not worked.

So all in all a 12$lost for only a marginal chance of having the best hand preflop is expensive at all.

Preflop is a pretty easy fold imo. I like the rest.

I think most of the time I let this go PF, you dont really have enough people in the hand to justify playing 65s for a raise from the BB and since it isn't a steal attempt, I see no reason to call here...

Moving on, I think the rest of the hand is pretty standard and I think you played post flop fine.

Agreed completely. Check-raise is better IMO because it will catch Villian off guard, whereas he might expect a bet on that ragged baord. I probably would've called river, though, many people easily play A high this strong on a ragged board (note: I forgot what the river card was).
