Do I need to bet out like this on the flop or check it?

I would bet it out. If villain had a shorter stack, I would check it and hope to trap him and get him pot committed (or if the blinds were higher).

lead, build the pot, you want to play for stacks here and both you and villain are very deep.

I would lead but not for so much. Probably something like 650-750.
