There is no rule against having more than one account. No one will care if you create an alter ego for a legitimate purpose. If you do a really good job then we may applaud your efforts. A few gimmick accounts have been extremely funny. Other special accounts have provided invaluable information or advice that the main account did not dare say in public.

Most gimmick accounts are ill-conceived and a waste of time. Think before you post or create gimmick accounts and 2+2 will be a better place to visit.

If you misuse an account it may be banned. Depending on what you did all of your other accounts may be banned as well. It looks really bad when an established poster creates a new account so he can break the rules. Makes it really obvious it was intentional and premeditated.
