dee-oh is pretty funny.

I've come to expect some pretty inane things out of the Grizzlies announcers.
They used to have some terrific announcers including a guy named Don Poier who moved from radio to TV who I considered one of the best I've heard.
But he sadly passed-away mid-season a couple years ago and every combo they've tried since then have not been very good.
The radio team is even worse than the TV guys. Since you just saw a TV broadcast I know this is hard to believe. But incredibly it is true.

it was, actually...i'm drinking (go brownies!), and him saying, in some stiff, old white-man voice, 'halloween is not over until homer says dee-oohhh', was hilarious to me.

I'm going to include stupid moments in sports-broadcasting in general as opposed to just what the announcer says.

NBC's football night just turned out all the studio lights I guess to conserve energy or something for their green week promotion.
Ummmmm.....ok.

I felt embarrassed for Costas and Collinsworth. Collinsworth had a WTF look on his face the whole time.

steve phillips on sportscenter:

"the dodgers need to do three things:

1. acquire and sign either arod or mcab for power
2. sign either andruw jones or torii hunter for center field
3. acquire and sign johan santana

these three things will make the dodgers a sure bet in october."

ok wtf? just go out and acquire two of the best players in baseball and sign them to ridiculous contracts, and then hand out a third huge contract to another scrub?

i like the sportscenter anchor's comment right after phillips was done. "total cost: one billion dollars."

Sean Salisbury just was comparing AP to LT and said "They better tackle AP because at 6'2", 6'3", 230 pounds...running a 4.3...man!"

6'3" 230? I thought AP was listed at 6'1" 207.
