A stop n go is where you commit yourself by calling preflop and then push any flop in the hope for more fold equity then just shoving over preflop. This explains it pretty well.

You would be surprised what donks are capable of...
Poker Stars, $15 + $1 NL Hold'em Tournament, 200/400 Blinds, 3 Players
LeggoPoker.com - Hand History Converter

SB: 6,495
Hero (BB): 1,775
BTN: 5,230

Pre-Flop: (675) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (BB)
BTN folds, SB raises to 1,200, Hero calls 800

Flop: (2,475) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero bets 550 and is All-In, SB folds

Results: 2,475 Pot
Hero mucked T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and WON 2,475 (+1,250 NET)

Edit: oops not a good example either, you are supposed act first on the flop.

That's not really a good example. You need to be first to act after the flop.

Best part of the stop n go portion of the "book".
"Stop-and-gos are rare, and when they do arise, win very small amounts of equity because most of the time the result is identical to moving in preflop. The amount of discussion this play has generated online is way out of proportion to its value. If you are not already an advanced player, forget about stop-and-gos and concentrate on developing flawless basic skills. Once you have mastered the basics, it makes sense to add at least the risk-free stop-and-gos (such as the 22 example in the paragraph above) to your repertoire."

When you are old you can sneak into movies with impunity. My wife and I did tonight and we were busted. When the 17-20 yo asked if we had tickets for that movie I just said "no, we just wanted to see a bit of it." She wasn't up for kicking us out and just said OK.

Damn Stars went from no regs and stuff loading to no anybody and nothing loading.

Luckiest poker thing about suzzer: won 15-20 MTTs, never finished 2nd.

Unluckiest poker thing about suzzer: played over my head about 30 times, lost horribly 25 of them, broke even the other 5. Just saw a bunch of $225s with no one on them, been running good, said what the heck. Didn't make it past level 5 in my first 9 out of 12. Bubbled in the $315 after several shorties survived dominated hands on their allins. Fun.
