Default Chiprunner tipping

So Cal: Why am I always the only one at any 4/8 live table that tips the runner a buck? Does this happen everywhere else?

NorCal: Yeah, I'm usually the only one too. I still do it.

I often sit at a 4/8 table for ten minutes before getting called to my bigger games. Sometimes I even skip from 4/8 to 8/16 to my final destination within a short period, switching from white to blue to red chips. I tip each time, when I get my initial chips and each time I get colored up to the next table.

I'm there almost every day to have a good time. Why stiff the people helping provide that?

I always take care of chip runners and I love it when someone else will toss something to them and say "oh, I'm sorry I forgot".

I tipped the low limit brush a redbird yesterday because I forgot my phone and she paged me when my wife called (i.e. did her job). I'm starting to feel like creeping TT-isms are taking over my body, I've stopped dressing like a slob and wearing nice shirts and slacks to the casino. Perhaps I'm trying to smokescreen everyone so they don't know what a degenerate loser I am?

I know this is off topic from the OP but I try to dress somewhat on the nicer side when I'm playing cards. I've even gone as far as wear a sports coat with a nice shirt. For some reason, I get more action that way as if the gamblers think I have more $ to burn or that I don't care about it, versus wearing ratty jeans and a t-shirt.

I tip on the first rack or two. If I get to a third or fourth rack I usually am feeling less generous and don't tip.
