initial raiser is unknown, bb is a very strange huge stack donk 92/33/1.5. he only miniraises and he hasn't shown down a lot. he's not scared of betting big.

Re: KK with ace on flop
I check. Hope it gets checked down, or you can figure out if your KK is good here. I also make it around $15 preflop.

Re: KK with ace on flop
i hate flops like these... but if i feel good about how im playing, i'd check it down too and maybe call a river bet but mostly fold.
otherwise if you want to be aggressive, i'd 3/4 or pot the flop. i'd think you're beat here 100% but that's just me. at these limits .5/1 and 1/2 even 2/4 i've seen people make some crazy preflop calls with AQ, AJ, A10 and even A rags suited. |

Re: KK with ace on flop
i think i'd c-bet here for 2/3 pot and lay it down to a raise and shut down on a call.

[/ QUOTE ] Absolutely not. Yes, people do call with that. But there are just as many donks who will have pocket 2s or KQs. 60% of the time I'd bet here. You will often take it down. (Remember, many people will put you on AK... a lot of people call with weak aces who do so because, if you have a pocket pair and an ace hits... and you check it, they think they're ahead.) |

Re: KK with ace on flop
Bet $25 and then fold if there is any action. If you just get flat called, then check it down.

Re: KK with ace on flop
If you bet, you're only getting called by an ace. If you check, the aggro BB may bet with something like 1010 and you can get some more value. The problem here is that any bet the BB makes will probably be a big pot sized bet which we would rather not call. The fact that cutoff stuck around makes me very unhappy with the situation. I'd probably check, call a weakish bet once, and pitch it to any real action. BB could have crap but CO probably has something like A10 and won't go away.

Re: KK with ace on flop
There was a thread about this a while ago that changed the way I play these hands.
I used to always bet here. My new line is to check and try to get to showdown as cheap as possible. We have a hand with some showdown potential, but don't really want a big pot. I check, call a reasonable sized flop bet (we would have bet this anyway). Then, hope to check/check turn and see a cheap river. |
