AA with odd PF action against a nit
I'm not sure whether I like this hand or hate it. Thoughts? Original raiser was MadSkillz609 and coldcaller is SmittyUF. MadSkillz and I have some history. I have been playing fairly aggressive against him all night, hence the slightly larger 3 bet.
SmittyUF is a bad nit. He plays like 13/11 or something. His coldcalling range is JJ+, maybe AKs. Re: AA with odd PF action against a nit
Wierd spot. Betting the flop is good. I prefer betting the turn and checking river... River card kinda sucks as played, I really don't see any value to better river at all. AK, JJ, QQ, hearts all got there, so I don't really see any reason to value bet, unless his coldcalling range is bigger than I think but he's 13/11 ffs.
Overall, I think you have to bet one more street after his flop call, and betting turn is better because the board is pretty drawy, although his range is small. /rambling |

Re: AA with odd PF action against a nit
Is villain capable of C/R the river for value after the turn was checked through? Probably not, but at the same time, AK just got there, he is probably scared of AK. This is debatable. You really only beat KK, and it is possible he is checking the river with a set now because AK hit a straight. KK is his most likely holding here, and I don't think you have any FE against a hand that beats you...I think it really doesn't matter much either way. It is that close. Either b/f 1/2pot or check behind. I probably make that bet because I HATE missing value bets.
Final word. If villain ever 4-bets preflop, check, as you are probably beat. If villain never 4-bets preflop, I think it is marginally better to b/f. |

Re: AA with odd PF action against a nit
nits range is really prob QQ-AA, less often AK. After flop, no way he has AK, with you having Ah.
So as you go to turn, looks like he has QQ/KK. So with basically 200 left in what will be 600 pot, I bet turn, planning to call raise. Get rest in on river if he calls turn. |
