KK against a big stack

I've been playing LHE for a long time and moving from limit to NL is difficult for me in these types of spots.

Villian is a 40/19/1.88 who has not been out of line. Have about 200 hands on this guy all from this table. I have been raising a good amount of pots lately but it has been from good run of starting hands. My showdowns have been strong. What the heck do I do here?

You're both super deep. I would hate it no matter what I did. I will leave the advice for people who are actually good. I sure don't envy you in this spot but personally, I would lean toward folding, thats a lot of money vs. the stakes.

This deep we have to be careful not to overplay our one pair hands. 3-betting this flop is spew because so often we are getting 4-bet/called by better hands. I'd rather call his raise/call a good turn/ re-evaluate the river.

If you called I would bet my firstborn he rolled over 77. What a gross spot but it feels like an obv. set.

Sometimes in the heat of the moment I miss that, but it seems sort of a clear fold given stack sizes.

I think the biggest thing i took from the hand in hindsight keep the pot small as you said. I honestly didn't want to play for my stack after that flop and I feel like I sort of brought that on myself. My thought process during the hand though was to not let him see any more cards on a board like this.

At the time i was putting him on a draw and just couldn't see this guy limping with a pocket pair in on the SB. The 20 reraise was probably too small if my goal was to force a big mistake with a drawing hand anyway.

I ended up folding because I felt he probably had a clear idea what I had and it didn't seem to bother him.

Should I just become a calling station here and pray the bets stay reasonable and the board doesn't get too scary? With about 20 real scare cards for me (A, J, 4, any spade) it's very likely this board gets real ugly by the river.

Tough fold but necessary if you want to be a winner. I still bet he had 77 like always. =)

Given that range, given the reads that he's not a guy going out of line, given that you're deep - Fold.
