Default I\'m sick of going broke in the same spots...$11 MTT last night

So this was one of those $11 buyin deals where the blinds go up fast....I play a wide range of tournies from 10 bucks to 215 buy ins and i always seem to get deep and make a shove to pick up chips and get busted. Here we're at the final 3 tables or so with 1000 starting entrants....I must push here right? My damn M is like 3 right? FWIW i do have a loose image. I have already made a shove on the SB with K5 and a shorty was all in so he saw my cards.

Seems fine unless you're already viewed as a push-happy monkey. Don't be results-oriented, man.

Kramer thanks man i respect your opinions as you are a strong poster ...i really enjoyed your series of getting into the WSOP mindset and read them all....Just one question...Even if I'm a little laggy in my image I just cannot pass here right? There is so much $$ in this pot. Even if it is from the button and i do seem aggro and obvious i just cannot pass right?

Yeah, even the loosest of calling ranges from the blinds will still yield +EV. Even if you turned one of your cards face-up and showed it to the blinds, I still think shoving here is pretty unexploitably +EV.

edit: And thank for the kind words.

Be patient. When your 53s holds and you make a final table, you will feel like a beast and realize just how tremendous a player you really are.

I dunno. Particularly I'd almost rather fold than jam two cards <5.

Is the calling range of the blinds so wide that shoving with a 5 high is really any different than shoving with 9 high? I think we shove because it's +EV even if we tore up our cards and walked away from the table before the flop was dealt if called.

thanks guys its just that i keep getting deep but haven't made a final table in over a year. seems i used to final table all the time before i shoved hands like this(due to my poker education on 2+2) but im sure that variance has a way of screwing w/u. I'm sure its a mathematical certainty that I'll bust through and final table one of these very soon.

The good news is that i do make a lot of $$ at other poker games away from MTTs so they are all freerolls for me.

Indiana,

If both guys called you with top 30% of their range (which is pretty insane):

49% of the time they fold and you win 8800.
51% of the time you're called and are 35.5% to win.

.51*(.355*(31,561) + .645*(-26,761)) + .49*(8,800) = +1,223 chips.

So shove away. That short, blinds that big, it's really hard to exploit you.
