I go to the Borgata every week and I bring my bag in no problem. It's not a true "backpack" but the guy sitting next to me had a Clive messenger bag and they let him in fine.

And I got away with it a bunch in the beginning as well. Security hasn't noticed yet.

Um...the quote he said this about is from Dr. Strangelove (and while maybe not THE best ever, it's definitely very near the top of the list.) I don't believe this is based on a book. IIRC correctly it may be based on a short story. I've never read it myself, but it probably wouldn't be hard to find.

Now the other quote floating around in this thread...that's from Fear and Loathing. That's based on a book. Seriously, you all should read the book....kids these days.

I see many younger live pros carry backpacks to the poker room. Just curious what they are using them for.

[/ QUOTE ] Drugs. Lots of drugs. If they bust out they'll probably start selling some DRUGS. LOL. To be honest, its probably change of clothes(games are good and they are going the distance so may have to sleep over), MP3 players, books, log books, and POT for when the tourny gets boring

two bags of grass, seventy five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.

[/ QUOTE ] You forgot to pack your sunglasses and some crack. Better yet freebase

All - Backpacks are not allowed at the Borgata. Hence Pros stay home.

[/ QUOTE ]

this is not true....unless rules was changed w/in the last 2 weeks

[/ QUOTE ]

At the Borg backpacks are not allowed on the casino floor, this includes the poker room. This has been the rule for years, not only was I asked to remove my duffel bag once I have also seen this happen many times. Best solution - check your backpack with the concierge desk to the right of the main desk.

Note - I haven't played at the Borg in 6 months, but this was the rule for as long as I have been going there.

[/ QUOTE ]

might be a double standard or something but...

@ Borgata Winter Poker Open (2wks ago) I had a bookbag (w/ ipod, headphones, t-shirt, $) strapped to my chair during the tournament and during 8-9 hr cash game sessions

????
