NL 100 Bluff-raise min donkbet, turn NFD
Villain is a sweet drooler running at like 38/4 over 40. Is this too aggro and do I have enough equity on this turn? I know the min donk bet is usually a draw or an attempt to get to the turn quickly and cheaply, but i'm not sure how much equity i have here. Obviously I'm betting enough on the river to put him AI. Comments on all streets welcome.

Re: NL 100 Bluff-raise min donkbet, turn NFD
What is up with the flop c/r? Leading the turn after c/ring the flop just doesn't make sense to me...wtf are you trying to rep on both the flop and turn? I think c-betting the flop and db'ing the turn makes a lot more sense. Also, if you put him on a draw, everything just got there except the high gutterball...so basically I don't like this play at all.

Re: NL 100 Bluff-raise min donkbet, turn NFD
CO was calling c-bets left and right so I didn't feel there was value in stabbing into 2 people on an A high board. When the action plays out in front with a min bet and call, that screams weakness to me and I expected to take the pot there.

Your flop line makes no sense with a real hand.

[/ QUOTE ] The problem with your thinking is, this villain is very passive, so who cares if he is calling lots of your cbets, its not like he is raising and blowing you off pots, so there really isn't any problems w/ cbetting still, if he started to get frisky or something w/ raising cbets or floating and then taking lots of pots away on the turn, then Iw ould be concerned. But, villain is 38/4, he just doesn't do plays like that. Once you decide to check, I really think c/r'ing is bad here and I would probably just take the cheap turn card and hope to hit. I think you can start taking exotic lines like this vs this player when you have a stronger hand, since when they are confsued loose passive stations like this usually just call down. Your turn bet essentially puts the drooler all in, however, every draw got there and I don't think villain is going to fold any decent A here. Plus we have J outs that may or may not be good, and a FD that could come in now. I really don't mind just checking the turn, expecting him to gaybet it and seeing a cheap river, after he calls your flop c/r and then this turn card peels off, I think he either is just going to be stubborn and showdown his pair of A or he got there on the turn. I really don't like the way this hand was played. |

Whether his line makes sense or not is pretty irrelevant. A 38/4 isn't typically thinking about his opponents hand. That said, a 38/4 is also a calling station, and what do we know about calling stations. That's right, all together now class. DON'T BLUFF CALLING STATIONS! Gold stars all around.
